V&A Disobedient Objects Exhibition 2014

Looking through the V&A exhibition details I found Gavin Grindon had written their blog-post about the exhibition, there was no route to find his details via the V&A site so I put the name into Google and found that he’s a lecturer at the University of Essex. His profile gave his email address.

“In 2014 I co-curated the exhibition Disobedient Objects at the Victoria and Albert Museum, London, about objects of art and design produced by protest movements internationally since the late 1970s. It was the museum’s most visited exhibition since 1946.”

So I emailed…

…and got a reply 🙂

Bike Bloc Stories

We’d use Copenhagen’s most plentiful and recyclable resource, discarded bikes, and reverse engineer them into machines of creative resistance.

Reflection & Next Steps

A little further on but not all this week’s objectives met. Still, it feels as though there’s momentum and the gaps are slowly being filled.

More (some!) visuals are needed now. I’d like to fill some walls with type, perhaps short stories projected around. I don’t just want static statements pasted around the walls, I’d like most of the stories to be moving so a style (or two) to allow that to happen and to fit in with what’s going on around the room.

My essay keeps getting pushed to the back in order to find content for the blog progress – maybe I need to switch off from posting what’s happening (but keep it happening) until I’ve completed a good block of writing?

I’ve got an idea for the Summer Rain room without it getting wet. That’s for week 22.

Time to look at some visuals and start working out how things are going to be mocked-up; 3D rooms, flat walls or plans like an exhibition stand?
