Phase 4: Critical Review Hand-in

Final report or business plan. 5,000 words.

Essay plan:

To look into what and why there are the stereotypes in cycling and then introduce case studies where cycling takes them away and shows new ways (new to the reader) in which cycling makes a difference to people’s lives.

Look at issues around:

  • Health and wellbeing
  • Employment and opportunities
  • Empowerment and change

Followed by how the outcome of the project will get the message across that cycling and the bicycle are much more important to people than just a leisure activity.

Reflection

TFFT.

Although submitted (and in theory, out of the way to forget about) I need to keep an eye on developments in the project so that any changes can be documented (add or edit) as it reaches the end (and before the cut-off).

I’ve had it checked for accuracy by Terri Rapson, MaSocSci., DipN., RGN. Former Principal Lecturer Staffordshire University, External Examiner Open University and Lancaster University., Health Education Consultant London Group of Universities.

Never been good at planning essays, more of a ‘let’s get started and see what comes out’ kind of approach. I think it’s ok, I’m told (by Terri who checked it for me) that it has some interesting views and has been put together well. There weren’t many recommendations needed for improvement (Harvard Ref. needed a few pointers) but what she did recommend made sense which was reassuring that I’d understood what was needed.
